BioGardener included over 25 different natives to create a colorful bed that changes with the seasons in the small East Austin garden. A color explosion from showstoppers like copper canyon daisy, Nierembergia, Texas betony, Texas Sotol, Mexican plum, Brazos penstemon, wooly stemodia, and four-nerve daisy wasn't enough; we used crushed glass from the City of Austin curbside recycling program as a mulch, which even glitters in the moonlight.
