Our
Commitment to the Organic Way . . .
BioGardener is dedicated to providing landscaping and consulting services that minimize environmental impacts. We use natural and organic products and practices and focus on building healthy and balanced soils. Our organic approach is sometimes limited by realistic conditions, when levels of site disturbance and noxious and invasive weed infestation are beyond the capabilities of organic and natural methods. Once the natural balance of beneficial microbes and insects is achieved, there is no longer a need for manmade chemicals. We strive for that balance every day for every project.

Fertilizing—Organic, biosolid or
litter based products formulated to slowly release nutrients into the
soil. Are safer for birds, bugs, pets, kids, and creeks and rivers
than synthetic fertilizers.
Pest Control—Natural products used for short-term control of certain pests until natural balance is restored.
Aeration—Simplest method to restore high traffic
areas of the lawn by promoting oxygen to penetrate and carbon dioxide to escape
the grass root systems. Usually
coincides with a addition of compost to help improve soil texture and introduce
additional nutrients to the soil.

Beneficial
Insects—Instead of killing everything
with pesticides, the introduction of beneficial insects can let nature
do the job of controlling all kinds of pests, without poisons and
dangerous chemicals.
Corn Gluten—Organic method to help control some lawn weeds, including dandelions
and crabgrass.
Vinegar Solution—BioGardener uses our own homemade solution of diluted acetic acid (concentrated vinegar) as an alternative to RoundUp in certain situations.
Soil Amendment—There is no such thing as native soil in most urban areas of Central Texas, so amending soils is a critical component of any organic program.
